Busisiwe is a young lady, born and raised in Umlazi, Durban. Coming from a large family and raised by a single mother, Busisiwe knew that hard work was the key to change her personal circumstances. She attended Qondokuhle and Manzolwandle Primary Schools then went to King Shaka High School where she matriculated in 2014. Her excellent matric results earned her a Grindrod bursary, which is administered by the Cyril Ramaphosa Education Trust, to study towards a BSc in Environmental Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Busisiwe describes herself as diligent, self-motivated, dedicated, trustworthy, open minded and a loving person who enjoys working with and around people. She always strives for excellence and discourages mediocrity. In each of the schools she has attended, she received a best learner certificate and attributes this to her diligence and perseverance. In her first year at university, Busisiwe received a Golden Key International Honour Society Award for outstanding academic performance.
Busisiwe appreciates living the Cyril Ramaphosa Education Trust (CRET) ethos of giving back. She is active in her community as a mentor and role model to young girls who come from disadvantaged families.
She has also developed her work skills by spending time doing vocational work on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s game farm in Limpopo. She is fanatical about the environment and hopes to be a leader in environmental science one day.
